Assisi: Festival in honor of St. Francis
From 3 to 4 October 2009 will be held the festival in honor of St. Francis patron saint of Italy.
The city of Assisi will be involved in liturgical celebrations and festivities dedicated to civilian performances, folk songs and dances.
As per tradition we will deliver oil from an Italian region that will serve to fuel the lamp that lights the crypt of St. Francis, this year will be the Veneto region to offer it.
Among the most important rituals remember the commemoration of the death of St. Francis of Assisi in the lower church of the Basilica of St. Francis and the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli.
