OLIVE GROOVEIn a place where the terrain is very steep and well drained due to the presence of meteoric rock, an olive grove, consisting of 500 typical Umbrian olive trees, has been planted. The olive harvest generally takes place in the months of November/December according to the stage of ripeness. The olives are harvested by trained workers over a period of days, afterwards the olives are taken to the mill to be milled and the precious oil that is obtained is used in the preparation of our specialities and our “bruschetta” (toasted bread with olive oil and salt). Check to see if there are special offers regarding the olive harvest, if not contact the management who will give you the best offer for a stay at the castle during this time so that you can watch and actively participate in the harvest and the pressing of the olives at the mill where you will be offered, as is the tradition, “bruschetta” made with the oil you helped produce. |
