One of the sites of which the city is most proud, is the Rpman Amphitheatre,: built in the first century d.C. and perfectly conserved. The religious buildings of greatest importance are the cathedral (Duomo) built in the last twenty years of the 12th century, in which is housed the Museo Diocesano, and the Basilica of the patron Saint Ubaldo, restored in 1500 by the Canonici Regolari Lateranensi to whom the custody of the sanctuary was given. The basilica is home to the “ceri” or giant candles , protagonists of the famous race.
