CIVIL CERIMONIES The ceremony celebrated in the beautiful Town halls has a procedure less formal. The Mayor or a civil officer of the State for the purpose celebrate the wedding. The married couple can choose only two witnesses on the civil ceremony. You can’t ask for a civil rite on Sunday. The Common is in the centre of Assisi and the place in front of is rectangular and placed on the area corresponding to the ancient forum. There are 3 or 4 rooms different capacity.
RELIGIOUS CERIMONIES In Assisi there are a lot of Church…you can choose the one that you like more for architecture, history, capacity, parking, celebrations…. SAN FRANCESCO: The Basilica of Saint Francis is the first, the most famous and the loveliest of all the temples dedicated to the great Saint. If you go to the Church from the lowest part of Assisi, you can see the beautiful square of Saint Francis bordered on the three sides by a low covered arcade, begun in 1476 and complete in the 16th century. The wedding is possible in the lower church wrapped in a mystic half light only faintly interrupted by seftrays filtered through the stained glass windows. SANTO STEFANO: At the end of the stones steps of via Santo Stefano begun in 1166 but completed only towards the end of the following century and restored recently. The interior is charming with its little aisle of five bays, narrow little windows and semicircular apse. CAPACITY: 50 people PARKING: outside the centre CELEBRATION: ever
SAN RUFINO: The Cathedral has the loveliest facades in Umbria. Originaly it was a little chapel, probably of the 5th century, where Basilio placed the body of St. Rufino, martyr of Assisi. SAN PIETRO: The façade is divide in to parts horizzontaly by a heavy cornice supported on small hanging arches, wich even passes under the roof; vertically is divided by two pilasters.
